January 21, 2021: Official “Notice to Proceed” and a Ground Breaking is anticipated within the next 30-45 days. As soon as we know that date we will certainly update you.
March 8, 2021: Although engineering work continues, we experienced a small delay as one of the bidders on the contract filed suit contesting the award. We anticipate that this will be resolved in the near future and we will get back on schedule with the project. It is our opinion, as well as the opinion of GBRA, that the selection process was appropriate and the lawsuit is without merit, but we must go through the legal processes to satisfy the lawsuit.
April 2, 2021:
We are now at day 689 since the collapse of our beloved Lake Dunlap dam, and we are working continuously to get back to where we were before that date but even better!
As we mentioned before, although engineering work continues, we experienced a small delay as one of the bidders on the contract filed suit contesting the award. Here is the latest update regarding the lawsuit:
1. While the judge didn't agree to dismiss the lawsuit, she strongly implied that GBRA will win a "motion for summary judgment". That should happen next week.
2. Although Thalle filed a lawsuit, they did not ask for an injunction to prevent GBRA and Zachry from moving forward - so they are continuing to work on the dam project.
3. Ground Breaking ceremonies have not happened as fast as we wanted, but are still on track to happen before the end of this month.
4. There are many points of unofficial news and unverified gossip out there. The only true source is www.LakeDunlapWCID.org.

Construction Update: A Preconstruction Meeting was held on April 15th with all parties – GBRA, Black & Veatch Engineers, Zachry Construction. The LDWCID was represented by it’s Technical Committee members. Monthly progress meetings have commenced with the first meeting held May 12, 2021.
The Contract is fully executed by GBRA & Zachry & awaiting formal approval from TWDB. This should happen in the next few days, at which time GBRA will issue a formal Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed is the formal start of the 24-month contract duration. While some work has begun at the project site, much of the upfront preparatory work is going on off site by Zachry and the team, such as:
